The Good Bush People has been a cornerstone of bushland regeneration since its establishment in 1994 by Hugh Paterson. After Hugh's retirement in July 2023, Jemma and her husband Roy took the helm, eager to continue the legacy of quality work that Hugh built over nearly three decades. Roy dedicated 20 years to learning the trade under Hugh, while Jemma contributed six years, gaining invaluable experience and insight into effective regeneration practices.
Jemma and Roy are deeply passionate about Australia's native landscapes, flora, and fauna. Their love for the environment goes beyond work, as they spend their days off exploring local bushland with their 18-month-old son. For them, being bushland regenerators is not just a job but a vital part of their lives. After moving back to Australia from New Zealand, they embraced the opportunity to become business owners, continuing to positively contribute to the ecosystems they cherish.
We are proud of our close-knit team of passionate, qualified, and experienced bushland regenerators. Together, we work collaboratively to achieve the best environmental outcomes, ensuring the health and vitality of the landscapes we serve. We work together to deliver safe, efficient and cost effective solutions.
Join Jemma, Roy, and the team at The Good Bush People in their mission to protect and restore Australia’s unique ecosystems. Together, we can make a difference!
